Andrew COOPER, Nomansland (2008). The Senedd Building, Cardiff (Wales)

'The Senedd (Welsh Assembly Building, Cardiff), will become the focal point of Remembrance in Wales as the award winning Welsh sculptor, Andrew Cooper installs his commissioned sculpture, nomansland. Supported by the Royal British Legion and the Presiding Officer of the National Assembly for Wales, the installation drew upon traditional Armistice themes and combined them with the political campaign then recently launched by the Royal British Legion which calls upon Government to 'Honour the Covenant, between the Nation and its Armed Forces. The exterior of the work takes the form of a packing case continuously travelling the world whilst the interior explodes in an eternal field of red.
