Open call: local, provincial, national and international artists.

Budget: 1.25 million CDN dollars plus applicable taxes.
Includes: all professional consultants, operations and contingency.
Note: this art commission is not limited to one artist.

Submission deadline: Thursday, March 06, 2008 at 2 p.m.

Installation complete: October 2009.

Design Considerations:

- dramatic entrance to 39-level office tower.
- Nature flowing from outside into an open two-level lobby.
Exterior artwork appears as though moving into the building.
- Interior artwork flows throughout the space at different elevations.
- The movement of the art will lead public towards both main elevator core and to the second level where indoor gardens are present.
- The interior artwork should be visible from the exterior of the building.

Preferred mediums:
- Polished stainless steel or similar for the exterior.
- Interior to be a combination of both stainless steel or similar and vibrant blown glass or similar material that are colourful and will reflect/sparkle with a light source.
- Interiors materials are to compliment and provide warmth to the hard granite interior finishes.
- Lighting (preferably LED) is an integral element of this project. Evening lighting is critical. The light source must have a strong presence during the day.
- Issues to be considered are: extreme climate, maintenance and vandalism.
