PUBLIC ART COMPETITION: LUMINOUS ARTWORK. NEONS PROJECT / GENEVA (Switzerland)
The contemporary art funds of the city and canton of Geneva are innovating in the sphere of public art by commissioning luminous artworks to be displayed for a ten-year period. The program is a public-private partnership with the owners of buildings that host the artworks.

The project already boasts six installations, by Sylvie Fleury, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Nic Hess, Christian Jankowski, Jérôme Leuba and Sislej Xhafa. Two additional luminous works, along with an exhibition, symposium, and publication, are scheduled for March 2012.

NEONS was conceived specifically for the Plaine de Plainpalais in downtown Geneva. The diamond shape of the Plaine echoes the city's waterfront. Outside the glamorous tourist district of the waterfront, the Plaine offers an original urban environment that combines local and business activities with seasonal, cultural, and festive events.
This competition concerns the roof of the building located at 4 avenue Henri-Dunant, Geneva.
It is open to artists of all nationalities.

Artists wishing to enter the contest must first register by downloading application documents found on the site http://www.neons.ch
